Cylinder Reconditioning

Over 20 years experience specilaising in cylinder reconditioning

At Sentex Hydraulix we have our own In-house workshop specialising in the manufacture and re-conditioning of hydraulic rams meaning that when you bring your cylinder to us it's stripped, assessed and repaired by us and not sent away like many other companies do.

We have repaired thousands of rams over the years and we do so to the highest of standards of precision and cleanliness. We can manufacture individual components or a complete ram and we always aim to be as cost effective as possible. To keep downtime to a minimum we also stock a large range of chrome rod at various sizes.

We never ‘fix’ a ram. Replacing one seal or cleaning up a damaged or bent rod is always a false economy. Sooner or later one of the other seals will fail and then you’ll have to strip it all down again. We always change the full set of seals and every ram is fully tested on our test bench before it leaves the workshop for full peace of mind.

We can also repair and test other hydraulic equipment such as jacks and lifting cylinders and provide test certificates if needed.

Keeping it 'In-House'

We understand that downtime has to be kept to a minimum for any business, that's why we have the capabilities and equipment to fully recondition your cylinder in-house.

Keeping a large stock level of chrome rod and honed tube allows us to machine the critical parts of a cylinder as quickly and efficiently as possible. Along with our stock of metal parts we also have a dedicated seal room housing a range of pressure seals, orings, wipers and more.

Having the right equipment...

As with many businesses having the right equipment for the job makes repairing any cylinder more cost and time efficent for the customer. Here at Sentex it's no different and we're proud to say that we have within our workshop the following machinery;

  • AJAX AJAT320 x 1000 CNC Lathe with Siemens 808D Control
  • DSG Type 25 Lathe with 5m bed
  • DSG Type 17 Lathe
  • Colchester Triumph 7 1/2 Lathe
  • Colchester Triumph 6 1/2 Lathe
  • Harrison Lathe
  • Bridgeport Milling Machine

The Sentrifuge

We house a one of a kind 'Nut Buster' machine we call The Sentrifuge. With over 50,000lb-ft of hydraulic torque and a huge 5m long bed, this awesome piece of equipment features Hydraulitech's 'Nut Buster' head with our bespoke bench and testing unit.

This gives us the capabilities to remove and retighten even the toughest of pistons and glands to manufacture specifications, as well as digitally testing each cylinder before returning to our customers.
